It's December!

With Thanksgiving and the Dutch "Sinterklaas" (December 5th) behind us, it's time for Christmas carols, Christmas lights, Santa, gifts and most of all, turning our hearts towards the celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus.

Thanksgiving

We're so thankful to have been adopted by two families here in the Springs who have made it a tradition to have us over for Thanksgiving dinner every year. (At least we hope it has become a tradition, hint, hint.)

Generation Hero Website

Rodney and the web design team that he works with, recently finished a large project for an international Youth With A Mission ministry located here in Colorado Springs. The website is called Generation Hero and it is aimed at recruiting the generation some have called the Hero Generation (born between 1982 - 2004, you can read a complete description here).

The leader, Fred Markert tours throughout the U.S. and the world speaking to mega-churches and other large conferences, working with major ministries such as Hillsong Australia. The website plays a key role in the recruitment of this Hero Generation.

The last few years working with YWAM in Europe, his heart was always to work with "big-picture" projects that would have a global impact within YWAM and missions in general. The last couple of years, it seemed as though that vision had died, but now that he's getting to work with projects like this and a couple more large ones to come (more on that in future updates), it seems as though God is gently leading him back to this vision and allowing him once again to work on global-scale projects.

Looking back on 2016

During this last month of 2016, we can look back and say we have had a truly blessed year. Rodney is very happy with his part-time work and enjoys the projects he's able to work on. We're thankful to be better off financially and to not have as much stress of living "paycheck to paycheck". It's never fun to talk about finances, but we're thankful for what we have.

We're thankful for people like you who faithfully support our vision and our missions work.
We wish you all a blessed, merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!

Blessings,
Rodney, Jolanda, Lisa and Sarah
p.s., Sarah will turn 10 on December 27th. Wouldn't it be fun if a lot of people surprised her with a birthday card?
Jo with Zemma (Dutch-Kenyan blend), who she babysits once a week.
Baking Dutch "kruidnootjes" (little, cinnamon-y, ginger cookies) at home.
"Oh dear, a deer!" We often get unexpected visitors at Y360!
Sarah's school performance of an "International Christmas Medley"
Driving up and down the hills in the snow is always a challenge!
On Dec. 4th, Rodney turned 44! Chocolate cake is his favorite.
